Your Score: Almost Perfect- INFP

20% Extraversion, 60% Intuition, 33% Thinking, 40% Judging

So, you want to make the world a better place? Too bad it's never gonna happen.

Of all the types, you have to be one of the hardest to find fault in. You have a selfless and caring nature. You're a good listener and someone who wants to avoid conflict. You genuinely desire to do good.

Of course, these all add up to an incredibly overpowered conscience which makes you feel guilty and responsible when anything goes wrong. Of course, it MUST be your fault EVERYTIME.

Though you're constantly on a mission to find the truth, you have no use for hard facts and logic, which is a source of great confusion for those of us with brains. Despite this, in a losing argument, you're not above spouting off inaccurate fact after fact in an effort to protect your precious values.

You're most probably a perfectionist, which in this case, is a bad thing. Any group work is destined to fail because of your incredibly high standards.

Disregard what I said before. You're just easy to find fault in as everyone else!

Luckily, you're generally very hard on yourself, meaning I don't need to waste my precious time insulting you. Instead, just find all your own faults and insult yourself.

March of Dimes

We all get the "this is something that I don't ordinarily do" emails and now it's my turn to send one out.

On Saturday, April 28th, I will be walking in the March of Dimes campaign "Walk America" I'm hoping to personally raise $1000.

Contributing to my walk online is fast, easy and secure. You can donate directly from my personal webpage with a credit/debit card or PayPal. If you prefer, I can also accept cash or check. Just click the appropriate box on my webpage.

The money we raise helps save premature and sick babies. Premature birth is the #1 cause of newborn death and the biggest threat to babies’ health today, and through WalkAmerica, the March of Dimes is funding important research to find out why premature birth happens and what can be done to prevent it.

I’ve joined with millions of compassionate people across the country who support WalkAmerica each year. Won’t you please help me in this worthy cause? Visit my webpage and sponsor me in the walk that saves babies!

With your support, there’s hope.

The March of Dimes was founded in 1938 By US President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The original purpose was to raise money for polio research and to care for those suffering from the disease. The name emphasized the national, nonpartisan, and public nature of the new organization, as opposed to private foundations established by wealthy families. The effort began with a radio appeal, asking everyone in the nation to contribute a dime (10 cents) to fight polio.

Over the years, the name "March of Dimes" became synonymous with that of the charity and was officially adopted in 1979. After supporting the development of two successful vaccines against polio (both Jonas Salk's and Albert Sabin's research were partly funded by the March of Dimes), the organization, rather than going out of business, decided in 1958 to use its charitable infrastructure to serve mothers and babies with a new mission: to prevent premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality. The organization accomplishes this with programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy.
Today in the USA, March of Dimes funds researchers working in biochemistry, microbiology, developmental biology, genetics, pediatrics, and many other fields. Along the way, it has helped support special neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) designed to treat the sickest babies; drug treatments to replace surgery for babies with a common heart defect; and folic acid education and food fortification to prevent neural tube defects, among other advances. Source: Wikipedia.com

Prenatal Statistics: An Average Week in North Carolina:
311 Babies are Born Preterm (before the 37th week of pregnancy)
58 Babies are born Very Preterm (less than 32 weeks)
208 Babies are born with a low birthrate (less than 5 1/2 pounds)
44 Babies are born with a very low birthrate (Less than 3 1/3 pounds)
Source: http://www.marchofdimes.com/northcarolina/northcarolina.asp
$100 could help 10 families with babies in neonatal intensive care learn how to care for their baby when he/she comes home.
$760 could provide prenatal care classes for 15 pregnant women.
$3,800 could fund a program to help 180 pregnant women quit smoking.
$150,000 could provide a research grant to study malfunctioning genes responsible for many birth defects.
$482,700 could provide a multi-year grant to study variations in genes of mothers and babies that might trigger premature birth.
You can visit my personal page here: http://www.walkamerica.org/pixeltickler.

There are several methods to pledge: You can donate through my personal page via credit card/debit card or via paypal

You can also register yourself to walk at http://www.walkamerica.org

From a friend of mine

I resisted sending anything in the early rounds of this competition, but the competition is getting tougher and my family could use your help with voting. My cousin's daughter, Madeline, has made the finals of the Early Show's "Living Room Live: Kid's Edition" singing competition, and will get to perform live on the Early Show if she is voted the favorite over 2 other finalists.

Voting is via computer and the time for voting will be Monday, March 5th (after 9a) through noon on Wednesday, March 7. You can see more details about the voting and a link to view her performance (which will be the basis for voting) in my cousin's email below. It's easier than voting for American Idol!

Also, about Madeline, she was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes at age 4. At age 7, she released a CD to help raise money for a cure, and donated $5,000 to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. You can learn more about her at - http://www.madelineedwards.com/index.html .

Thanks for any votes you can send her way!

A trade of black cats may be in order

Why am I up at OMG in the morning? About half an hour ago I was awakened by a cat yowling and scratching at my bedroom door. The more asleep than awake me thought the cat was yowling on the opposite side of the door--- the room where I am now. I assumed that Baber had gotten locked out on the french porch and was in my office yowling at my bedroom door.

I was only partially correct. He was lost in my bedroom yowling to be let out of my bedroom. I let him out, followed him across the french porch and let him back in his part of the house.I'm wondering now if black cats have gotten switched as Jocie isn't responding to my summons.

So, Wynn & Ian, if you discover you have two black cats in the morning, please usher Jocie home. I'm a little concerned that she's not answering my summons.

Baber, I'm sorry that you got lost in unfamiliar territory. Thank you for leaving such large poop droppings at my front door. Elmo is now trying to displace your scent with his own. I hope I don't find any more of your surprises.

Update: Jocie has now unhid herself and is where she should be.

Down the rabbit hole

(Cross-posted to a couple of different places)
Late August I made this post (you'll need to be a livejournal member and be on a certain filter group to read). What ended up happening was the chick was a stalker. SO had been ignoring her messages which was why so many built up. Crazy chick used to work with him.

Well, it gets better.

Mid-October I was on vacation from work. One day SO comes home from work, said that the stalker had come into his job, told him that she had started working where I work and that I "kept staring her down in the cafeteria every day". Re-read that. She also threatened to "do something about it" if I kept staring her down.

What exactly did I know about her at the time? Only her first name. Didn't know what she looks like, didn't know she had actually ever applied where I work--- much less had gotten hired there.

Keep in mind that there are over 1000 people where I work and that in the past year six months, we've more than doubled our workforce.

My first day back at work I advised my direct manager of what was going on. Gave him my best guess at who I thought she was by going through our global company directory and narrowing my search by first names and our location. There were 8 women with the same first name, but by checking job function, only one seemed to indicate a recent hire.

That same afternoon while I was still at work, a letter was thrust into my landlord's hands by a then co-worker of his, a letter of apology to me blah, blah, blah, full of all sorts of stuff she made up. Landlord did not get a good look at the driver of the car, but it's one we've been seeing cruise past the house and fits the description of the car SO thinks she drives, but he's not been at home the times we've spotted it in the past.

SO went to the police about it. Said that he needed to find out her full name, get an address on her, and send her a certified letter stating that she is to no longer contact him, come near our place of residence or make any contact--- once that letter is received, we can press criminal charges against her.

Crazy chick knows my full name, where I live and I still have no clue what she looks like or anything--- sort of, read on...

It gets even better still.

Updated my direct manager of the letter arriving. He told me that as soon as I can verify who she is, they (management/security/human resources) can take care of the situation.

Meanwhile, I'd been spending the past several weeks trying to avoid the area that she works in. (She's on the same floor I'm on, but at the opposite end of the building). Making certain that when I'm in the cafeteria that I'm surrounded by people that I've worked with for years. They're actually calling themselves my bodyguards. They've even offered to walk me out to my car each day.

Fast forward a couple of weeks.

Crazy chick calls the co-worker of SO, pretending to be a friend of herself--- for several days in a row. Co-worker was pretty certain that it was crazy chick, but crazy chick ws calling herself by a differnt name. Crazy chick shows up there one day, tells the co-worker, "Hey, you know my friend "Fictitious" who's been calling you? That was really me. Ha, ha, ha." Then proceeds to tell the co-worker that she is going to try to get SO fired by going to his manager and claim that SO had forced her into a back room several times and made her give him blowjobs. Also told the co-worker that she had called in to work sick for several days because she's afraid of me. Also said that she was going to either put something on my car or do something to my car.

Why did co-worker tell SO? Because she'd finally come to realize that crazy chick is indeed crazy and delusional.

Crazy, deluded chick.

SO goes to his manager, tells her what is going on. Manager is stunned. Hopes that nothing has harmed his relationshiop with me. Unfortunately, crazy chick didn't directly work for that same company, but a vendor which has since pulled out. Which means that SO's employer doesn't have any HR file on her.

I have to update to my manager again and advise him that I still haven't been able to verify who crazy chick is. Told him that I've been trying to avoid her area, but as luck would have it, I've been in some training classes and some team meanings in the conference room that's located right behind my suspect's desk. I told him that I make certain that I walk down there with a mob or in worst case scenario at least one other person. My whole team has slowly been getting involved because of more or less fulfilling a body guard/witness role that I'm doing my damndest to stay away from her.

My manager told me that I shouldn't feel that I'm having to walk on eggshells. I advised him that I'm aware of that, but I'm not going to give her any cause if I can help it to start accusing me of things I'm not doing.

Nothing yet has happened since then. Or at least not to my knowledge. Part of it has been that she didn't appear to be at work at all last week and three times last week I was in that same conference room.

The sad thing is that if I have pegged the right preson, she's got two young daughters.

Been quiet here, but busy

I've been to Carowinds in October:
PA210032
And yesterday to a neighboring community's Fall Festival/Veteran's Day/Christmas Parade:
PB110046
I've become the typist/editor of my department's new monthly newsletter and that's taking a lot of my time in front of the computer at home. And no, I'm not required to do it at home, but I've got a buttload of my own clip art at home, PSP, my scanner, and full Internet access at home. I'm hoping this will eventually launch me in being able to do something else in the long run which is exactly why I've volunteered to do it at home because I can put together a much better product here than I would be able to at work.

Whatzit?

It's really only about 1.5 inches tall. Possibly made for Mattel in 2004 in China has a little magnet in the back of its head and ...ahem.... between its legs. Anyone know why it was made? Was found on the pavement outside of a Kmart store.
