Down the rabbit hole

(Cross-posted to a couple of different places)
Late August I made this post (you'll need to be a livejournal member and be on a certain filter group to read). What ended up happening was the chick was a stalker. SO had been ignoring her messages which was why so many built up. Crazy chick used to work with him.

Well, it gets better.

Mid-October I was on vacation from work. One day SO comes home from work, said that the stalker had come into his job, told him that she had started working where I work and that I "kept staring her down in the cafeteria every day". Re-read that. She also threatened to "do something about it" if I kept staring her down.

What exactly did I know about her at the time? Only her first name. Didn't know what she looks like, didn't know she had actually ever applied where I work--- much less had gotten hired there.

Keep in mind that there are over 1000 people where I work and that in the past year six months, we've more than doubled our workforce.

My first day back at work I advised my direct manager of what was going on. Gave him my best guess at who I thought she was by going through our global company directory and narrowing my search by first names and our location. There were 8 women with the same first name, but by checking job function, only one seemed to indicate a recent hire.

That same afternoon while I was still at work, a letter was thrust into my landlord's hands by a then co-worker of his, a letter of apology to me blah, blah, blah, full of all sorts of stuff she made up. Landlord did not get a good look at the driver of the car, but it's one we've been seeing cruise past the house and fits the description of the car SO thinks she drives, but he's not been at home the times we've spotted it in the past.

SO went to the police about it. Said that he needed to find out her full name, get an address on her, and send her a certified letter stating that she is to no longer contact him, come near our place of residence or make any contact--- once that letter is received, we can press criminal charges against her.

Crazy chick knows my full name, where I live and I still have no clue what she looks like or anything--- sort of, read on...

It gets even better still.

Updated my direct manager of the letter arriving. He told me that as soon as I can verify who she is, they (management/security/human resources) can take care of the situation.

Meanwhile, I'd been spending the past several weeks trying to avoid the area that she works in. (She's on the same floor I'm on, but at the opposite end of the building). Making certain that when I'm in the cafeteria that I'm surrounded by people that I've worked with for years. They're actually calling themselves my bodyguards. They've even offered to walk me out to my car each day.

Fast forward a couple of weeks.

Crazy chick calls the co-worker of SO, pretending to be a friend of herself--- for several days in a row. Co-worker was pretty certain that it was crazy chick, but crazy chick ws calling herself by a differnt name. Crazy chick shows up there one day, tells the co-worker, "Hey, you know my friend "Fictitious" who's been calling you? That was really me. Ha, ha, ha." Then proceeds to tell the co-worker that she is going to try to get SO fired by going to his manager and claim that SO had forced her into a back room several times and made her give him blowjobs. Also told the co-worker that she had called in to work sick for several days because she's afraid of me. Also said that she was going to either put something on my car or do something to my car.

Why did co-worker tell SO? Because she'd finally come to realize that crazy chick is indeed crazy and delusional.

Crazy, deluded chick.

SO goes to his manager, tells her what is going on. Manager is stunned. Hopes that nothing has harmed his relationshiop with me. Unfortunately, crazy chick didn't directly work for that same company, but a vendor which has since pulled out. Which means that SO's employer doesn't have any HR file on her.

I have to update to my manager again and advise him that I still haven't been able to verify who crazy chick is. Told him that I've been trying to avoid her area, but as luck would have it, I've been in some training classes and some team meanings in the conference room that's located right behind my suspect's desk. I told him that I make certain that I walk down there with a mob or in worst case scenario at least one other person. My whole team has slowly been getting involved because of more or less fulfilling a body guard/witness role that I'm doing my damndest to stay away from her.

My manager told me that I shouldn't feel that I'm having to walk on eggshells. I advised him that I'm aware of that, but I'm not going to give her any cause if I can help it to start accusing me of things I'm not doing.

Nothing yet has happened since then. Or at least not to my knowledge. Part of it has been that she didn't appear to be at work at all last week and three times last week I was in that same conference room.

The sad thing is that if I have pegged the right preson, she's got two young daughters.

Been quiet here, but busy

I've been to Carowinds in October:
PA210032
And yesterday to a neighboring community's Fall Festival/Veteran's Day/Christmas Parade:
PB110046
I've become the typist/editor of my department's new monthly newsletter and that's taking a lot of my time in front of the computer at home. And no, I'm not required to do it at home, but I've got a buttload of my own clip art at home, PSP, my scanner, and full Internet access at home. I'm hoping this will eventually launch me in being able to do something else in the long run which is exactly why I've volunteered to do it at home because I can put together a much better product here than I would be able to at work.
